About us
StrAus-Zert began its activities as a testing, inspection and certification body (for short: PÜZ-body) according to the Construction Products Directive. Originally it was a department of the Industrial Association for Road Equipment (IVSt). It was founded in August 1999 and, with its four specialist departments of road marking, work zone securing, traffic signs and road restraint systems, represents all trades of road equipment products.
One year after the founding of the IVSt, StrAus-Zert was notified by the German Institute for Building Technology (DIBt) under NB 0913.
In December 2004, StrAus-Zert was restructured and became an independent association. The entry in the register of associations took place in April 2005. The association’s board currently consists of Gregor Becker and Thomas Muth.
A list of member associations can be found on our members page.
With the introduction of the Construction Products Regulation in July 2013, the PÜZ-bodies are now referred as conformity assessment bodies (for short: CAB). The accreditation of the testing and certification body was carried out by the Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle GmbH (DAkkS). The notification was issued by the DIBt for the certification body because the assessment and verification of the constancy of performance of the road equipment products is carried out according to System 1.
